About Taylor
My name is Taylor Bland and I am a Metro-Detroit native with over 10 years of combined experience in specialized instruction, educational leadership, and coaching who, with a Master's in Education from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's in Psychology and Social Welfare & Justice from Marquette University, continues to foster equity and empowerment as a successful executive function specialist and coach. With my background and skills, I am passionate about transforming the lives of children and adults with ADHD, Autism, and other neurodiverse needs by helping them access their full potential. Using a holistic and relatable approach, I provide my clients with strategies, tools, resources, and new ways of thinking and learning that result in clients having a better understanding of their needs, improved self-confidence, and greater achievement in their academic, professional, or personal goals. I love the work that I do and am excited to continue to support not only my clients, but others who would like to make a similar impact.

What is executive function coaching?
Executive function coaching helps to improve skills that are housed in the prefrontal cortex of the brain related decision-making, planning and problem solving and our ability to take action.
Who is it for?
As an executive function coach, I coach any children or adults who have challenges with or want to improve in:
• goal setting & planning
• managing work & school tasks
• self-advocacy
• using organization tools effectively in the home, school and
workplace
• effective note-taking & study strategies
• problem solving & self-trust
• the college admissions process
• job searching, resume-writing, and other career & professional
skills
My Approach?
Authentic relationship-building is central in my approach to coaching. With clients, I like to create individualized coaching goals and strategies based on their learning or professional history, interests, strengths and challenges to determine their coaching needs and where we can build trust in our skills or where we can challenge our current thinking and habits.
What's Coaching Like?
During coaching, we begin skill-training in the desired areas of focus or need by applying executive function strategies to your life in real time, working through high priority tasks such as:
• Setting goals and creating a plan of action
• Managing and getting started on the workload (e.g.
homework, work tasks and personal to-do’s)
• Organizing your schedule or workspace with tools that we find
work for YOU
• Creating a system to recall tasks, events and important ideas
• Practicing note-taking or study strategies until we find what
works
• Planning for and completing steps of the college admissions
and funding process
• Planning for your transition into your very first or new career
with job hunting and finding useful resources/tools to craft
high quality applications and interview prep materials
• Employing self-advocacy strategies to resolve conflict, access
resources or negotiate for new opportunities
• And other unique ways to practice new skills in real time!
Accountability Measures?
In coaching, we use accountability measures such as:
• Session follow-up emails or texts to list session goals,
strategies, resources and tools as well as note your progress
• During coaching, we keep track of all coaching material in
your own personalized Google Drive Folder for you to return to
indefinitely
• Guided Reflection to ensure continuous alignment with
coaching goals and needs
• Session reminders
Does Coaching Work?
• Based on client data (teacher notes, client school or work
performance reports, and client or parent surveys) 80% of
weekly clients notice significant growth outcomes (e.g.
improved academic scores, performance on work tasks and/or
overall confidence) within just 3-4 months of coaching.
• Nearly all of my repeat clients report significant growth
outcomes within 6 months of coaching.
• Lastly, 90% of clients who commit to coaching stay in
coaching for a year or longer!
