Hi! I’m Varun, a sophomore at John P. Stevens High School. I tutor Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, breaking concepts into simple, clear steps so math feels less overwhelming. A standard sixty-minute lesson begins with a five-minute warm-up on prior material to activate knowledge, followed by ten minutes of clear instruction with a simple worked example. The next twenty minutes are dedicated to guided practice with increasing difficulty and reasoning questions, leading into fifteen minutes of independent problem-solving with active observation and feedback. The lesson wraps up with a five-minute review of key takeaways and common pitfalls, followed by a final five minutes to assign targeted homework and optional challenge problems.
What sets my approach apart is a patient, methodical style that never skips steps, paired with flexible explanations that adapt instantly if a concept does not click. Every lesson concludes with a problem the student can solve independently to build lasting confidence, alongside connections to real-world applications in finance, science, and design. These lessons are designed for middle schoolers needing pre-algebra readiness, high school students in Algebra 1 through Calculus, test prep students preparing for the SAT or ACT, and anyone looking to either rebuild foundational skills or accelerate ahead of school pacing.
