About Lauren
I am a college student at Virginia Tech who has lots of previous experience working with young children. For example, I used to be in Girl Scouts and run various workshops with kids, I am a mentor at my university for local elementary schoolers who I meet with every week, and I have previously developed my own curriculum for 2 different elementary level science courses that I taught to students in the Dominican Republic. Through my past experiences, I have developed lots of patience when working with kids and am more than happy to help personalize their learning experience so that they can succeed in all subjects at school.
In my free time I love painting, cooking, and traveling.

Hi my name is Lauren and I am a Business Analytics major at Virginia Tech. I specialize in working with elementary school students ranging from 1st-5th grade in various math subjects (Ex: multiplication, fractions, pre-algebra, etc). When I was younger math used to be a frustrating subject for me, but as a result I developed many different approaches and techniques for understanding the material. I also have a lot of patience with the subject because I understand the importance of teaching material through each student's preferred style of learning. My goal for every student I work with is that they develop a strong and confident grasp of the material in a positive and patient work environment. I am happy to help students with homework, reviewing classwork, studying for exams, etc.
