About Sabrena
I am a Second Year Law student who has studied English Literature for IGCSE and A-Levels. Although I haven't had official tutoring experience, I was part of my school's in-school student mentoring, where I helped C grade students reach their potential and achieve As. Following my method of studying and techniques for note taking and analysis, I achieved the top mark in my country for CIE A-Level English Literature.

I usually begin my lessons by touching base with my student, carrying out simple English Literature exercises to figure out their approach to the subject, their strengths and their weakness, and most importantly, to discover what they love about the subject so I could devise a program that is both challenging yet engaging and enjoyable. Every week, I aim to set a mini assignment to really consolidate the learning of new analytical skills, in order to transform the analysis and deep unpicking of literary devices into a habitual exercise for the student. I usually have touchpoint dates where I would set an exam-like timed essay to test the student as to what they have actually absorbed. I find this very helpful for fine-tuning certain aspects of the subject that the student is still struggling at.
