About Ezra
Hi, I’m Ezra. I’m a law student with a background in Rhetoric & Writing, and I work with high school and college students on essays, personal statements, research papers, and writing development.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where I studied argument, persuasion, audience, style, and the ways language shapes how ideas are understood. In law school, writing is central to nearly everything I do, from close reading to building clear and persuasive arguments.
I see writing as more than grammar or proofreading. To me, writing is a way of thinking. I enjoy helping students slow down, sort through their ideas, and turn them into writing that feels clear, organized, and true to their own voice.
My style is patient, thoughtful, and direct. I want students to leave with stronger writing and more confidence in how they approach their own work.

I approach writing tutoring as a collaborative process, not a correction session. My goal is not to take over a student’s writing, but to help them better understand what they are trying to say and how to say it clearly.
In a typical session, we might brainstorm, develop a thesis, reorganize an essay, clarify an argument, strengthen paragraph structure, work on transitions, or talk through revisions. For written feedback, I focus on the bigger picture first, including structure, clarity, flow, argument, and voice, then offer concrete next steps.
I work especially well with students who have strong ideas but feel overwhelmed translating them into persuasive writing. A lot of the time, the best point in an essay is already there. I help students find and build around it.
