About Emilie
Hi! I’m Emilie – I was born and raised in Nice, and I still live here today.
I'm a passionate and patient teacher who also teaches yoga and guitar. I'm also a language lover: I speak English (advanced), Italian (advanced), Portuguese (intermediate), and a little Russian.
We can start our lessons in the language you’re most comfortable with!
Today, I want to help you speak French using the method that has helped me the most in learning other languages: immersion and shadowing.
Immersion :
I’ll share content adapted to your level so you can hear as much French as possible in your daily life—through topics you actually care about!
That includes podcasts, YouTube videos, French TV talk shows, series, films, and music. This makes learning easier and more enjoyable.
Shadowing :
Shadowing means mimicking the way native speakers talk.
Together, we’ll practice repeating what you hear (from a podcast, video, etc.), and then we’ll discuss the topic, so you get used to speaking from your own ideas.
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, I’m here to help, and we’ll go at your own pace
Who is this for?
This method is perfect for intermediate learners who still struggle to speak with French people or to understand them well.
It’s also ideal if you want to improve quickly before visiting the South of France and would love to speak confidently during your trip.

In my classes, I use the shadowing technique, which is incredibly effective for improving : listening comprehension, pronunciation and speaking fluency.
Each lesson includes:
A shadowing session based on a topic you enjoy (travel, sports, society, spirituality, music, current events, etc.).
A discussion about the content to make it meaningful and relevant.
The audio recordings of the words or phrases you can review at home (you can also export them as flashcards to the Anki app)
A shared Google Doc to track vocabulary and useful expressions.
Advice and resources to immerse yourself in both French language and Niçoise culture.
