About Daniel

I study Portuguese at a university level and do research in Linguistics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (the #3 in Brazil). As someone who has studied several languages, I'm passionate about teaching and language learning and have been tutoring both English and Portuguese online since 2020. My experience with teaching also involves being a teacher assistant in Phonetics and Phonology, helping students write essays for college entrance exams as a volunteer, and making content related to language learning on social media. Other than that, I love learning new things, and my favorite hobby at the moment is playing the guitar :)

About the lesson

Our meetings are mostly based on conversations and everyday use of the language. One of my main goals is to make you more confident to speak Portuguese, as well as to equip you with the necessary skills to have more autonomy in your learning process. I put a heavy emphasis on student-centered learning and I'll help you achieve fluency by guiding you in your Portuguese journey and bringing real life material so we can learn aspects of the Portuguese language according to your needs and level of proficiency.

Here are some of the things we are going to do in our meetings: a) learn through music and books; b) read and write lots of texts; c) have discussions; d) talk about our daily lives; e) learn how to do things in Portuguese :)
