About Monica

I have taught adults from ages 16 - 85 over a period of more than 20 years. I have a Masters Degree in Post 16 Education and have various IT Training Qualifications as well as other training qualifications such as Life Coaching and Soft Skills. I have worked with computers for over 30 years and have managed departments for organisations that were all computer based. I have taught IT at exam level also i.e., ECDL, C&G at various levels, BCS etc. I have taught students who at times had never even touched a computer and who shed many tears when they even sat in front of one. These students I am happy to say have gone on to achieve IT qualifications and to find employment using computers. I have taught students for whom English is not their first language and so they struggled at t times with the terminology in IT. All my students have gone on to achieve qualifications in IT, with a large majority getting top marks. I will listen to you and to your needs so that I can meet them and help you excel. I will tailor the lessons to suit your particular learning style and your needs. We will enjoy relaxed sessions but sessions where you will achieve much. Even now many years later, many of my student still keep in touch with me which is lovely. I enjoy hearing about their successes in life and it is truly satisfying to know they feel I have contributed to that. Your success is paramount to me and I will work hard to help you achieve your goals.

About the lesson

I am a lively, bubbly and cheerful person who is very passionate about teaching and about your learning. Your success is my objective. I have been teaching adults for over 20 years and have taught in excess of well over 3000 students of varying ages, background and skill levels. I work on the philosophy that nothing is a stupid question if you don't know the answer. So you can ask me the same question a hundred times and I will answer it a hundred times with patience and skill until you grasp it. I am more than happy to tailor the sessions to your specific needs so that you get the most out the learning experience. My sessions are relaxed but focused. I teach individuals who are absolute beginners to advanced users. Lessons will run with an overview of what we want to cover, we will use demonstrations/explanations, questions and answers throughout the lesson and hands on practical tasks with feedback and summary to ensure you have grasped the subject. I take a genuine interest in each of the students I teach and look at your needs as an individual because I recognise that not everyone learns in the same way or at the same pace. If you want a tutor who is passionate, sincere, interested in you, will treat you as an individual, patient, has a great sense of humour and who knows their subject and teaches in a way that keeps you interested, then I'm the person for you. I am excited to meet you and to get started on your learning journey.
