About Brianna

Hi! I'm Brianna, and I have now dedicated 15 years of my life to Portuguese studies and teaching. I studied at Brown University, where I got my BA and Ph.D. in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies. Throughout my career, I have taught students at every level -- university, high school, community schools and private tutoring. I love helping others gain confidence in their language skills!

My students would describe me as passionate, high-energy, and empathetic. I love to bring in culture and real-world scenarios to make learning Portuguese fun and exciting for the learner!

About the lesson

I am a trained, experience language teacher who takes a fun, communicative approach to teaching. A typical session would include lots of speaking the target language, with both real-life exercises and cultural lessons. Though I come from a Portuguese family and have native-level fluency in the language, it is my second language and one that I studied in depth-- so I know what it's like to be learning the language! I have taught all ages-- from 7 to 77!
