About Mali

Hi! I’m a violin tutor with over 8 years of experience and a Licentiate of Music in Violin. My approach to teaching is holistic and therapeutic, focusing on self-expression, emotional release, and musical storytelling. I believe the violin is more than an instrument—it’s a tool to connect with your inner voice. In my lessons, I use improvisation, journaling, and soundscape creation to guide students through personal growth and creativity. I work with neurodiverse learners, trauma survivors, and adult students seeking healing through music. Each lesson is tailored to the individual, creating a safe and supportive space to explore emotions and ideas through sound. Students learn technique, repertoire, and theory alongside methods that encourage reflection and emotional exploration. Music becomes a way to process feelings, tell stories, and express what words cannot. I emphasize mindfulness, listening, and authentic expression, helping learners build confidence and connection with themselves. The goal is to make violin learning meaningful, restorative, and inspiring. I celebrate each student’s progress, no matter how small. Students develop strong technique, a keen ear for music, and the ability to perform comfortably in front of others.
