About Claire
Hello, I'm Claire, an English tutor, professional editor and legally trained project manager. I am a self-confessed stickler for SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) and I warn that it may be infectious! My advanced legal training as a barrister demonstrates my excellent grasp of the English language and articulation, amongst many other transferable skills. I use my project management expertise to support with providing a tailored, clear pathway to learning goals whilst boosting confidence. Whilst I hold qualifications in French, Spanish and Latin, I love helping others develop their proficiency in English. To this end, I also run an editorial business providing professional proofreading, copyediting and narration services, which includes extensive work with academic assignments at all levels. I typically provide 50-minute English language and literature lessons for students aged 11-16. My teaching style is focused and friendly, motivating yet methodical, and patient but passionate. I have classroom-based experience and have tutored, mentored, and coached many students at various stages of education. I am dedicated to supporting and encouraging young people to fulfil their potential and purpose. I have experience working with a range of examination boards (i.e. Edexcel, AQA and OCR) and I customise learning approaches accordingly.
