My teaching method is adaptive to my students' learning abilities! I tend to establish a trustworthy environment where the most effective learning tools for each individual student are explored and applied. I approach topics according to students' goals and priorities.
According to me, students should feel comfortable with their tutors and therefore friendly behavior with them is necessary. Besides, a good teacher needs to understand the strength and weakness of a student and plan accordingly. Sometimes, students find the process of academic accomplishments overwhelming and get anxious. I try to motivate my students to have faith in their abilities.
I am a person passionate towards learning and teaching. I first got into teaching because I really look forward to being able to share my knowledge with others. My lessons will be tailored individually towards each student's needs. I welcome anyone who wants to learn the subject. I teach subjects from the basics to ensure that students have a sound understanding of the learning material.
Lessons I provide will be geared towards students who not only want to do well in exams but also enjoy the subject material. Lessons will be discussion based and participation from both tutor and student will be required. The idea being to provide a less formal approach to study in a fashion that can make it enjoyable.
I am extremely passionate about teaching. I provide a learning environment that encourages questions, ignites curiosity and fosters love for the natural world and environment. I am very patient with solving a student's doubt. I make sure that each student gets to learn at his/her pace. I make sure that every students gets equal attention, irrespective of learning abilities.
I would like to blend and use all my research based and theoretical knowledge over different aspects of biology to generate unique teaching method to cover the student's institutional study curriculum with significant focus on recent and real life sciences based examples so that biology becomes easier, understandable, and interesting!
I can tutor students from K-12. My teaching style is to know the content and the student (their strength and weaknessess) and build on this in regardse to subject curriculum, assesmnet guidelines and learning outcomes so that students acheive their best possible outcomes. The methedologies i use will be stimulating and be adapted to meet students learning needs.
I like to tailor what I do to the student I am helping. No one is the same and therefore it is not appropriate to apply the same way of teaching to everyone. Some students require simple explanations while others prefer large drawings that depict concepts. Whatever it is that helps you learn, I can do it.
As a student I understand that everyone learns differently. I am a very understanding and patient person. There is no time limit to success. Understand the areas of uncertainty with the content. Backtrack through content to find grey areas in knowledge. Utilise a variety of resources to hone in the knowledge. Have breaks during the lesson.
I give attention to individual student and teach from their level. My interactive teaching sessions focus on developing student's thinking and problem-solving skills and step by step approach to reach a solution at the same time where the student finds learning is fun. Student will become more creative and innovative.
I am not tutoring anyone as a teacher but I will put myself in your position, a student, as how I was in year 12. Learning can be a little bit difficult and I'll ask you to tell your understands before going into the lessons. If I find that you don't quite understand and you're a bit confused, I'll correct you on the way. If you don't get the whole concept, that's ok! I am here to help.
I believe that interest in the subject being taught is most important, with its difficulty being fairly irrelevant, to a student who loves what they're studying. I take advantage of my contagious passion for biomedical science to enhance the students learning experience and academic performance.
I tutor high school and University students. Following an initial consultation and assessment to establish the level and type of support, we will develop a personally tailored one-on-one lesson plan to achieve the identified goals.
I have vast teaching experience, the final few years focussed on AS level Biology (Human Biology). I am passionate about the subject and enjoy the practical component, as hands on experience is integral in learning. Fun and interesting lessons on all aspects of Biology, including Human Biology. Worksheets and notes, including as much practical application as possible.
Super friendly and varied teaching methods. I know everyone learns differently so my goal is to find the best method that suits you. Let me know what you struggle with and we will overcome those challenges. Sometimes it just takes describing something in a different way for you to understand.
my name is Melissa, I have a bachelor degree in general biology and still working on my master degree in environmental sustainability, I am a former teacher and tutor. in my previous teaching job I had a full intensive training about the new methodology of teaching, so I developed a special and new teaching technique that has been really successful with all my previous students.
I like to understand the ultimate level of learning required for your course or sub-subject in Biology! So having an email before hand with learning objectives you want to cover, rather than random topics helps with orienting your studying and isn't a waste of your money! Also quite flexible with cancellation.
I base my teaching around being approachable to the student, and explaining topics easily and clearly at first, and moving on to more complex work once the student understands the previous work. I first present the topic to students and a brief overview of it, then explain the work and how to complete it clearly.
My teaching method is totally dependent on the student I am giving lessons. PPT, Book or Notes whichever way the student is comfortable in. I try to clarify all the doubts, discuss with them all the topics they want to understand.
I like to make worksheets for my students that cover the previous lesson's material. So part of the lesson is a worksheet, and the next part is a teaching session. If there are any problems we would go over them at that point in time as well. Also, notes will be provided with blanks that are required to be filled in during the lesson.
I really enjoy helping students to improve and achieve the best they can whether it is through some guidance on how to study, organisation or going through content and questions. I understand that every student has different needs and ways of learning and I am happy to cater for that.
As a teacher with a background in physical education I employ a hands on approach in my lessons. Communication between student and teacher is a key focus of my lessons and I believe that an inquiry based method of teaching helps students to reach there goals.
My teaching method is collaborative in nature where I encourage students to participate after each session , this helps me understand their current level of understanding and can give inputs to improve them, I also do the flipped classroom model at times ,wherein the student prepares for the lessons in advance however if time doesn't permit I wouldn't insist on this , the most important is the...
I use a lot of visual cues in my teaching. As a student it’s helped me retain a lot of information this way. All my notes and teaching use different colours, diagrams, fonts and symbols in order to help students store more information in long term memory. I like to break up difficult concepts. I believe in order to undertand something very complicated, it is essential to learn the basics.
I firstly try to understand what works best for the student, as its highly important to know their grasping power. I believe in having fine conceptual knowledge about the subject. Knowing basics is the certitude for a science student and therefore I approach the teaching in that manner. I don't like to rush while giving lessons.
I have a very didactic approach to my teaching method: where I will help you learn the fundamentals of the topic at hand using visual aids and connect them to the theoretical foundations so that you can have that "Oh yeah" moment, where everything comes together and makes sense.
Find out student's goals / aims and current level (eg. are you failing a unit and need to pass? Or need a top mark for scholarships etc.) Analyse understanding of different topics through exam-style questions; identify areas of weakness and work through re-explaining the core concepts to improve understanding in these areas.
I like to approach the subject giving a general view of it, then go into the specific area that requires more explanation or that it is unclear. I move forward only when I am sure the subject has been fully comprehended by the student.
I like to break down major topics into smaller ones, especially by making dot points within sub categories. I also like using videos to explain topics when I think they are better described using illustrations, for all highschool students.
I love Biology and its related fields of study. Nothing excites me more than the opportunity to help someone else love Biology as much as I do. This is what I will aim to be doing. While focussing on the student's exams and assignment requirements I aim to get them excited about the Biological Sciences.
