Book guitar lessons with expert teachers

Guitar beginners should start with four essential building blocks that create the basis for progress.

• Parts of the instrument: Learn the names of each major part like the headstock and fretboard.
• Note names: Memorise the six open string notes to navigate the fretboard.
• Fretting technique: Use your fingertips to press strings close to the metal bar.
• Right-hand rhythm: Hold the pick between your index finger and strum through all strings with fluid arm movement.

Master these fundamentals first to avoid frustrating mistakes that limit your playing.
