Find your painting tutor in Truganina

Getting started with painting independently is easier than you might think — all it takes is structure and dedication.

• Pick your medium wisely: acrylics are great for beginners due to their quick drying time and versatility.
• Learn to see in shapes: break down your subject into simple geometric forms before putting brush to canvas.
• Master colour mixing: a small palette of primary colours teaches you far more than a full set ever could.
• Work on your layout: good composition is the foundation of a strong painting, so study it early on.

Working with an experienced painting teacher helps you avoid common beginner mistakes and build confidence faster.

Painting tutors in Truganina typically charge $22/h per hour.

Pricing can vary based on:

Online lessons are often more affordable while remaining highly effective.

The painting process unfolds in clear phases, each one building on the last to create a cohesive piece.

• Surface preparation: artists begin by priming their canvas or board so that subsequent layers bond properly.
• Blocking in: broad shapes and tones are laid down loosely to establish the overall composition and value structure.
• Layering: the artist refines shapes and adds texture and nuance through multiple passes of paint.
• Final pass: small details and last-minute corrections ensure the painting reads well and feels complete.

With a clear framework in mind, each session becomes purposeful and productive.
