Find a piano teacher in Eltham

Pianos are built around a 12-note pattern that spans the full instrument.

The complete set includes C, D♭, D, E♭, E, F, G♭, G, A♭, A, B♭, and B.

• Sharp and flat notes are two names for the same key. D♭ and C♯ refer to identical keys.
• White keys and black keys alternate in groups.
• On an 88-key piano, this 12-note pattern repeats over 7 times.

Once you grasp the repeating pattern, finding any note becomes straightforward.

Most piano teachers in Eltham charge around $80/h per hour.

The cost varies depending on several factors:

• Your level of experience (beginner, intermediate, advanced)
• The tutor's background and training (degrees, certifications, performance history)
• The lesson length and regularity of lessons
• The lesson type (virtual, in-person at your location, or at the teacher's premises)

Choosing online lessons can reduce costs while maintaining quality instruction.

This concept means that strategic practice beats sheer practice time.

The rule guides you to work on weaknesses rather than repeating what you already know.

• Practice hard sections until they match the easier parts.
• Work on technique, sight-reading, and musicality.
• Devote practice sessions to recent or upcoming music.

This approach prevents wasted time on activities that don't move you forward.
