About Murat

After graduating from METU Mathematics Teaching Department in 1999, I worked for 11 years in various private schools, such as mathematics teaching and head of the mathematics department. During this period, approximately 10 of my math books were published. Considering that this knowledge should work in the academic field, I completed my master's degree at METU Mathematics Education Department. I am currently at the doctorate thesis writing stage.

Unfortunately, mathematics seems like a set of rules and procedures to be memorized by students. Therefore, meaningful learning is often overlooked. A mathematical knowledge that is meaningful and not built upon each other without questioning its causes is doomed to forget from the moment it is not used. I made an effort to teach mathematics by questioning the situation that I observed in my teaching years, in those years and after, in my private lessons. Once the subject is understood, the questions to be solved and the practical applications completes the learning cycle. In my lessons, I follow up on the subjects by considering this.
