About Miriam
I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2013 with a first class degree in History. I am now an accomplished teacher with 10 years of experience teaching from KS3-KS5. I have an excellent track record of delivering outstanding results at GCSE and A Level, and I have trained as an Edexcel GCSE History examiner.
I am passionate about history and about working with students to enable them to succeed.

I primarily work with OCR A Level and Edexcel GCSE students. I specialise at A Level in topics on the Middle East and the Tudors, and in supporting students with their understanding of the content and in exam technique. This involves dissecting different styles of exam question to develop students’ understanding of to how to structure and answer questions, as well as proof reading and marking answers. At GCSE, I specialise in the following topics: Superpower Relations and the Cold War, Weimar and Nazi Germany, Migration, Crime and Punishment, Henry VIII and his Ministers, and Elizabethan England. I can support students with both their knowledge and understanding of the content of these topics, as well as exam technique, ensuring that they have both the skills and knowledge to succeed.
Sessions will take an individualised approach, tailored to students’ preferences and learning requirements to enable them to reach their desired goals.

Perfect! Miriam is a very good tutor! She has really helped my daughter with the Tudor module of her History A level (which Miriam covers at the secondary school where she teaches - the same OCR board). Miriam has guided her on how to tackle the tricky source questions and how to hone her essay technique. She is very dilligent on feedback on sample essays my daughter has been doing for her. I highly recommend her!
