About Maisha
I achieved three A* grades in A-Level Biology, Chemistry, and Law and am currently on a gap year before applying to study Medicine, giving me both recent exam experience and a strong academic foundation. My lessons, usually one hour long, are tailored to each student’s needs and combine clear explanations, active recall, and exam-style practice to build confidence and mastery of the subject. I tutor GCSE and A-Level students in Biology, Chemistry, and Law, supporting all abilities from those aiming for top grades to those needing extra guidance. I believe that effective tutoring is about building both knowledge and confidence. My approach is highly personalised: I begin by identifying each student’s strengths and areas that need improvement, then structure lessons to target these gaps while reinforcing understanding of the core syllabus. I use a mixture of clear explanations, exam-style practice questions, and active recall techniques to ensure long-term retention of knowledge. I also provide tailored revision strategies so students can study more efficiently outside of lessons. Lesson Structure and Length A typical lesson lasts one hour, although I can offer longer sessions if a student prefers. Lessons usually begin with a quick recap to check understanding, followed by teaching of new material, and finish with applied practice (exam questions or structured problems) to consolidate learning. Qualifications and Experience I recently completed my A-Levels with three A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, and Law, and I am currently on a gap year before applying to study Medicine at university. Having gone through the process myself very recently, I understand exactly what exam boards are looking for and how to approach both content and exam technique. I have also gained experience supporting my peers during sixth form, particularly in essay-based subjects and exam preparation.
