About Lauren
Hi im Lauren and im a final year A-level student that currently studies a variety of social sciences with the International Baccalaureat Career-related Program (IB CP).
during my GCSE years i was also taught following the IB middle years program which means i have a great understanding of its componants and i have been taught to apply my studies to an international standard.
i believe in each of my students and i also think that progress is a tool for success which means that every step we take is a great one no matter what the topic is!
during my lessons i promise to work with you and your needs with your education, this means that each lessons is formed around you and your learning. We will always work to your pace and i will ensure your understanding at each step. Our google classroom will remain available to you at all times which means you will have access to any of our materials or any comments i have made on your work.

THE LESSON WILL TAKE PLACE OVER GOOGLE MEET USING A GOOGLE CLASSROOM.
i am best at covering written structures like exam writing and also poetry/literature analysis
Macbeth and A Christmas Carol are my areas of expertise as well as Conflict poetry at GCSE level
essay question writing will be based on student topics and any current lesson areas that they need to progress in
typically 1 hour lessons and all at secondary school level (years 7 to 11) however i am willing to adapt timings given three working days notice (if possible)
i have experience in mentoring with reading groups of all secondary school ages and i am currently a social sciences student so i have a great understanding in communication and social skills which i am able to put into practice.
a typical lesson will begin with a recap of any previously taught lessons (starter task) and will follow onto any work that the student needs to progress with. For example:
Poetry- analysing 1 poem per lesson
Literature- chapter analysis per lesson
Exam writing-one exam question per lesson (and a task to work on for revision)
each lesson will be adapted to the student so not all areas need to be covered.
the lessons will take place in a google classroom set up by myself so that the student can have access to their work at all times even after lesson hours and any materials will be posted on there. therefore the student will need access to a gmail account and initial contact to set this up can be made via SMS or gmail.

Details
i recommend each student to have 5 lessons, this is so that we have time for an introduction lesson and 2 hours of each topic.
it will be 1 hour per lesson and only one lesson a week at the agreed time, Unless the student wishes for 2 hour lessons in which a 10hr pack is recommended.
with 5 lessons the student will have tutoring for each week of the School Term.
with one lesson a week the student will also have enough time to revise any tasks we go over and complete any work they do not finish or would like to repeate.
this also gives me the time to put enough care into marking and planning the next session for the student.
