About Jayson
I’ve been playing music since I can remember. It has been the central axis around which my life revolves. I can’t not play music and I don’t understand how other people don’t. I have music running through my head 24/7. I was sent to the office for drumming on my desk through out my schooldays because I have to concentrate on not doing it. All that to say that I can’t describe my professionalism be cause this is not a profession for me. It’s not a hat or uniform I put on in the morning. It’s not something I chose or a decision I made. It’s who I am and whom I’ll always be.

I developed an original slap bass technique based on drum rudiments that utilizes all 10 fingers. It can be added to any exercise, scale or song no matter your skill level. I like to split our time with what you want to learn and what I want to teach you. There’s always more to learn no matter your skill level but playing the music that matters to you is what brought you here and is what will keep you engaged for a lifetime. My big picture goal is for you to learn to teach yourself and communicate ideas with other players. Don’t get me wrong, there’s going to be lots of hard work, practice time and hand cramps. Even Shakespeare had to learn his ABC’s. But if you can keep your head down grinding on some fundamentals for a while and at the same time bringing it back up learning music you love, I think you’ll see the results of your work in your own terms of success. Your progress in your ability, gains in knowledge, bringing you Self confidence and satisfaction giving you inspiration to create which motivates you to learn more and work harder, get better, inspired, motivated. If your can teach you that. You can learn anything you want.
