Matt is a gifted pianist, teacher and performe. I have had the pleasure of observing Matt teach various music subjects over the years. He has a strong background in jazz studies and traditional classical musical styles, music history and music theory. From my observation, his ability to fully engage and motivate students is above excellent. He sincerely cares about student progress while presenting new material that captures their attention and excites them. Matt is quick to recognize when a student needs special assistance or attention. He brings a fresh, unique approach to teaching. He often invites performers to discuss and demonstrate music prior to a performance affording students the opportunity to more fully understand what they’re about to experience. He has always been a favorite among the students. Matt has strong leadership abilities.
