About Eulice

Hello! I’m Eulice Jiang. I specialize in helping students succeed with Mandarin, English, and the connections between the two. I hold a PhD in Education and an MA in Linguistics, where I focused on English–Chinese translation. With 20 years of teaching experience in China and Canada, I’ve worked with learners from many backgrounds— K-12 students, university students, professionals, and beginners starting from scratch. In my lessons, I emphasize both language skills and cultural understanding. You’ll build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, writing, and even translation skills, and make full preparations for IB/AP/HSK exams. For students with academic or professional goals, I also offer Business Mandarin and English writing support, drawing on my expertise in translation and cross-cultural communication. Students often describe me as patient, clear, and encouraging. My goal is to help you communicate effectively, think critically across languages, and enjoy the process of learning. I’d be delighted to support you on your journey with Mandarin, English, or both!

About the lesson

Teaching Methodology & Techniques

My approach blends interactive teaching, inquiry-based learning, and personalized guidance. I adapt lessons to each student’s needs—whether it’s mastering Mandarin pronunciation, refining English writing, or excelling in academic coursework. I use a variety of materials (texts, multimedia, practice exams, and real-life scenarios) to make lessons engaging, practical, and results-driven.

A Typical Lesson Plan

Warm-up / Review (5–10 min): Reinforce key points from the previous lesson.

Core Learning (30–40 min): Focused instruction on targeted skills (e.g., Mandarin conversation, essay structure, IB/AP exam prep).

Practice & Feedback (15–20 min): Students apply knowledge through speaking, writing, or problem-solving activities.

Wrap-up (5 min): Quick summary, feedback, and clear take-home tasks to ensure progress.

What Sets Me Apart

Proficient in Mandarin and English.

PhD in Education (Canada) with 20 years of teaching experience in universities and language programs.

Specialized in IB/AP Mandarin, academic writing, and higher education success.

Skilled at guiding students to not only improve grades but also build confidence, critical thinking, and independent learning skills.

Experienced in supporting both heritage and non-heritage learners of Mandarin.

Who My Lessons Are For

K-12 students: IB/AP/HSK Mandarin, English essay writing, study skills.

University students: Academic writing, research papers, presentation skills, language support.

Professionals & lifelong learners: Business Mandarin, cross-cultural communication, or advanced writing support.

Beginners to advanced learners: Lessons tailored to your current level and future goals.

Whether you want to improve conversational Mandarin, succeed in IB/AP/HSK exams, or strengthen your academic writing, I will guide you with expertise, patience, and strategies that work.
