About Thomas

My name is Thomas, and I am originally from Birmingham, England. I began my career in the world-renowned Jewellery Quarter in central Birmingham, where I developed a strong foundation in fine jewellery craftsmanship and industry knowledge.

As my career progressed, I was selected by a jewellery brand in Manhattan, New York, to deliver advanced training to jewellers across the city. In this role, I specialised in providing in-depth education on fine jewellery, as well as precious and semi-precious gemstones.

I deliver my courses in a seminar format, while encouraging open discussion and interactive dialogue. I believe that engaging with questions and real-world scenarios enhances understanding and allows students to gain practical, applicable knowledge.

My courses are designed to provide a comprehensive and enriching learning experience, equipping participants with valuable insights into the world of jewellery.

About the lesson

Over the past five years, I have delivered numerous seminars and lectures aboard luxury cruise lines, providing educational programmes to a global audience. This experience has afforded me the opportunity to travel to over 150 countries, gaining invaluable international exposure and insight into the jewellery industry.

Through my travels, I have visited key regions known for the mining of gemstones and precious metals. This hands-on, first-hand experience has allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of the sourcing, grading, and valuation of fine materials, which I integrate directly into my teaching.

I specialise in educating students on the valuation of both loose gemstones and finished jewellery pieces. My courses combine technical expertise with practical application, ensuring participants gain a well-rounded understanding of the subject.

In addition, my programmes are particularly beneficial for aspiring jewellers and professionals looking to strengthen their commercial skills.

I place strong emphasis on product presentation, client engagement, and effective sales techniques, equipping students with the knowledge and confidence to successfully market and sell their jewellery.

Overall, my courses are designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, offering a comprehensive and industry-relevant learning experience.
