About Tahlia
Hi! I'm Tahlia, a passionate math tutor with around 5 years of experience. I specialize in helping students from Grade 5 to Grade 10 build strong foundations in mathematics and achieve their academic goals. Whether your child is struggling to grasp core concepts, needs extra help preparing for exams, or simply wants to improve their math skills, I'm here to help!
I focus on making math understandable, engaging, and fun. With personalized lessons tailored to each student’s learning style and pace, I ensure that students gain confidence and make complex ideas more accessible.
I had the unique experience of being a non-typical student that experienced falling grades in school after always loving maths. I was able to hold on to my passion for mathematics and overcome the challenges I faced by searching for different ways to understand core concepts. I finished high school with A-Level Cambridge maths and IEB Advanced maths. I now have a Masters in Business and a BS. in Finance from the USA.

-I am experienced at teaching students that do not connect with their school teacher's methods and offer alternative methods to understand, and memorize the material.
-A typical first lesson will consist of understanding the learning style of the student, which will be the basis of the lessons to follow.
-I specialize in grade 5 to grade 10, but have experience tutoring up to grade 12 and A Level.
-My speciality is raising failing grades often by 30%. I have seen students disconnect with their teachers and therefore lacked behind on difficult subjects. When a student is willing to work, but find subjects difficult, that's where I excel in improving grades.
-I teach in both English and Afrikaans.
