I believe learning is most effective when it’s personalized and engaging. My approach is all about tailoring lessons to meet each student’s unique needs and learning style. I use a mix of conversation, guided practice, and collaborative problem-solving to make lessons interactive and practical. Whether it’s helping with essay structure, analyzing literature, or polishing research papers, I focus on building confidence and fostering a deeper understanding of the material. I also specialize in working with students who may feel overwhelmed or discouraged, particularly those navigating ADHD, bipolar disorder, or other challenges. My sessions are judgment-free zones where mistakes are part of the process and growth is celebrated. A Typical Lesson Plan 1. Check-In: A brief conversation to assess how you’re feeling, review your goals, and prioritize what we’ll cover. 2. Skill Focus: We dive into the day’s topic, whether it’s brainstorming ideas, improving grammar, or tackling a tough writing assignment. I use clear examples and break concepts into manageable steps. 3. Practice: You apply what we’ve covered while I provide feedback and support. This could include writing, analyzing, or revising work together. 4. Reflection and Next Steps: We review what you’ve accomplished, identify areas for improvement, and plan for the next session. I combine expertise in academic writing with a background in mental health literacy, giving me the tools to help students not only learn but thrive. I understand that success is about more than just grades, it’s about finding your voice, managing stress, and feeling confident in your abilities. Plus, I like to keep things relatable with a bit of humor because writing doesn’t have to feel like pulling teeth. Who the Lessons Are For I work primarily with high school and college students, including those tackling challenging coursework or balancing personal struggles. Whether you’re aiming for straight A’s or just trying to make it through English 101, my lessons are designed for anyone who wants to improve their writing and communication skills. If you’re looking for a tutor who can guide you through the challenges of writing with patience, humor, and encouragement—I’m here to help!
