Whatever your level, whatever your objectives in Japanese, we can reach them together! Since I learned Japanese at an early age, I have a near-native grasp of the language, but learned it from a foreigner's perspective, so I know exactly what kind of difficulties you might encounter when studying Japanese and help you overcome them.

My degree in linguistics from a Japanese university as well as my time in Japan gave me an even more in-depth understanding of the language and the culture, so whatever questions you might have I can help you!

When living in Japan, I was able to stay with a host family, so I got the full Japanese experience and hopefully I can help you achieve the same!

I am easy-going and flexible, which allows me to can adapt to your level so that you don't find the class too difficult (nor too easy!). I also have 8+ year as a language teacher and have taught English, Spanish, and French, but I am especially passionate about teaching Japanese.

About the lesson

My focus is on helping you to express yourself with confidence and understand the language thoroughly. I use a number of different materials (textbooks, videos, audios, novels, articles etc.) to expose you to the language in different settings. I usually start my lessons with 5 to 15 minutes of conversation practice so that you can learn to talk about the things you are really interested in and so that I can help you find the words to express them. This way you can also have a clear view of how much you are improving and gain confidence!

- Academic writing, Japanese linguistics, phonetics, etc.

- MEXT Scholarship preparation (for Graduate School)
