About Kathryn

I have a master's in journalism, a bachelor's in English, and a teaching degree in secondary English. I am a freelance writer and newspaper correspondent, having worked previously for two other newspapers and three colleges. I am part of a women writers' workshop and have had poems and book chapters published. I also taught an arts council creative writing workshop and a community college workshop resulting in a publication of adult student works. Plus, I was on several boards of directors including a community arts association in charge of a creative writing contest and resulting booklet for teens through adults. I love helping students find their best path forward by improving their skill and achievement levels. I have also lived in France and England on cultural/educational programs.

About the lesson

As a small business owner, I use a consultative approach to teaching or training. I discover the student level by asking questions about what you want or need to know. We discuss the challenges you want to overcome and fashion lesson plans around that. A typical lesson might include improving vocabulary, sentence structure, and conversational English that fits your environment. As a published writer and poet, I value your exact choice of words in expressions and can help you improve your writing skills too. I can also help you write a great resume and prepare for job interviews. I enjoy helping all ages, from teens and up. Enjoy a fun learning adventure!
