About Rosa Maria
Hello,
My name is Rosa. I have been an ESL/EFL instructor now for over 8 years. Most recently, I have taught ESL courses at the college level at a community college. Prior to that I taught Spanish at a private institution. I also lived in South Korea for three years teaching English there. My hobbies include learning new things (most recently digital drawing), running, and watching Korean dramas. Teaching Philosophy
Authentic conversation is what happens when an educator provides English Language Learners with opportunities to use their language skills in and out of the classroom in meaningful interactions. Authentic dialogue in the language classroom helps my students and me develop relationships with each other and provides opportunities for students to use language consistently. I encourage my students by setting up situations in which they talk about relevant issues in the community. Discussing pertinent issues encourages students and helps keep the conversation interesting by making connections between what they learn in the classroom and what is discussed in other communicative contexts.
