My approach to tutoring is centered on building confidence, engagement, and strong foundational skills while meeting each student exactly where they are. Close reading and text evidence strategies
Graphic organizers and visual supports
Interactive activities (sorting, multi-select questioning, writing tasks)
Immediate feedback and goal setting
A typical lesson begins with a quick warm-up or review to activate prior knowledge. Then I introduce the skill or concept with clear modeling and examples. Next, we work through guided practice together, followed by independent practice where students apply what they’ve learned. I end each session with a short reflection or check for understanding to track progress and plan next steps.
