About Sam

Hi! My name is Sam! I am a passionate and dedicated teacher who aims to share my excitement of the world! I have spent my life aspiring to be a teacher, but only pursued teaching once I had a wide range of qualifications and experiences in different areas. Exploring different career paths and experiences has opened up a balanced version of myself and the world around me.

Since beginning my journey as a teacher, I have thoroughly enjoyed guiding students to success. The connections I build with each student is genuine. I wish to guide my students as a mentor and aim to ensure my students understand that I am a friend that is their to help them.

I pride myself on finding and fulfilling ethical solutions in all facets of my life. These ethical solutions extend to my students. I am passionate about understanding my students wants and needs to provide well-rounded and purposeful learning experiences. As an ethical vegan and owner of an off-grid tiny home, I practice sustainable and ethical living everyday to ensure I give back to all living creatures and our beautiful planet.

About the lesson

I am passionate about student-led learning environments. My teaching style grants my students with the power to lead their learning experiences. This ensures the student is pursuing learning that is interesting and engaging to them. Each individual is different, and I will tailor each unit of learning to suit the students learning goals.

Before committing to a paid tutoring program, I offer a free consultation to discuss my method of tutoring with the student and parent/caregiver. This allows the student to express their interests and learning goals they seek from the tutoring program. During the free consultation, the student is able to ask questions around their potential tutoring program. This will ensure the student feels comfortable with myself and the program before committing to a paid program.

After the initial consultation, I will generate a learning program that is tailored to the students needs that were expressed in the free consultation. During my tutoring program, I will use Miro Whiteboard through Zoom. Miro allows myself and the student to access the whiteboard during each session. Each student will have access to their own personal Miro Whiteboard. All content will be uploaded to the Miro Whiteboard and viewable before and after the session. Upon completion of each session, progress and reflections will be detailed in a live Google Document that will be accessible to the individual student. This Google Document will provide a section where the student can detail notes about their progress, as well as questions and desires for future tutoring sessions.

I am currently teaching part-time in a School for Steiner Education and have classroom experience teaching as a student teacher at an Australian Public Primary School. I have a year of experience tutoring primary-aged students online with Cluey Learning and have just begun tutoring Primary age students online and face to face through my own platform.

My tutoring program is open to all Primary age students of any level and background. I teach in English only.

*Primary School Ages that I can teach include Reception to Year 7.
