About Ashley
I hold a BSc in Agricultural Economics and Development Honors Degree and I am currently studying towards a Master of Education in Advanced Learning. I have had a good experience tutoring students at the Fountain of Knowledge in Harare, Zimbabwe, and at Ikamva Youth in Durban, South Africa. In addition to that, I have worked as a teaching assistant at Christopher Nxumalo School and Ukukanya Kwelanga Primary School.

My teaching methodology is based on instructional design. This technique refers to designing the classroom around the learners' unique backgrounds and their ultimate goals (or what I want them to take away from the course). I believe that learners have very unique backgrounds and bring a different set of experiences to the table. Instructional design allows me to take the time to get a better understanding of my learners by asking the following questions: 1. What is the student's current understanding of the subject matter? 2. What are their different learning styles? I send out a survey prior to the start of the course to get a better idea of the student's background. From there, I design and implement a course that is tailored with this information in mind and that ultimately works towards achieving the student's desired goals and outcomes. In simplest terms, instructional design recognizes that there’s no “one-size-fits-all” approach to teaching. Furthermore, I believe in the intelligent use of technology and visual aids to achieve an efficient and memorable online classroom.
