About Zheng

Hey, I’m Caden. I got the name from Baidu, haha.

I’m a UQ student, and I’m here for more than just teaching Chinese and making some money. I genuinely enjoy talking with people from different countries and sharing our thoughts about culture, life and pretty much anything interesting.

I’m also really curious about what you guys actually find interesting about Chinese culture. If you have questions about China, just ask me! I’ll try my best to give you an honest answer and share what I know. One of my professors actually came to China because she loved Chinese culture so much. She was a history student from the US and eventually came here to teach English. I always thought that was pretty cool.

For my lessons, I’ll do my best to make things fun and not boring or painful. Of course, you’ll still have to memorize some things — sorry, Pinyin isn’t going to memorize itself! But if you’re learning Chinese just because you’re curious or interested in China, I don’t think you should end up feeling stressed about it.

And honestly, I want to learn something from you guys too. Hopefully we can make progress together!

About the lesson

Hi! I’m a native Chinese speaker and a Master's graduate from the University of Queensland.

I don’t want my Chinese lessons to feel like another boring school class. We’ll actually talk, make mistakes, laugh about them, and learn from them. I’ll help you understand how Chinese is really used in everyday life, not just teach you sentences from a textbook.

For beginners, we can start with pronunciation, basic Chinese and simple conversations. If you already know some Chinese, we can spend more time speaking and work on vocabulary, grammar and natural expressions. We can also focus on travel, daily life, HSK, or whatever you personally want to improve.

I’ll adjust the lessons to your level and interests, and I’ll explain things in a simple way when Chinese gets confusing. My goal is simple: help you actually use Chinese and feel comfortable speaking it.
