About Katherine
I have over 40 years of experience working with young people of all ages - through after-school care, pediatric nursing, homeschool communities, and college and career consulting. My recent completion of a Master of Arts degree, with a 4.0 average, added the value of engaging with academic writing. Reading and writing are the core components for successfully navigating the school experience. I enjoy working with students and helping them gain the tools they need for success.

I use a coach approach to walking alongside the student as they make progress toward needs and goals. The tutoring relationship is established by setting up a plan for goals, projects, and action steps. I begin each session with agreement on a clear focus for the time and then moving into the work. From years of working as a consultant with students and their parents, I understand the need for a flexible approach that adjusts to the individual needs of each student. My goal is for the student to gain confidence in how they learn and share information.
