I believe that screenwriting is a subject that requires as much creativity as it does skill. As a student, I believe you have a story to tell, and I am here to help you do that in the best way only YOU can. I do not focus on just giving "rules" of screenwriting to my students, but utilising the knowledge from techniques and methods used in the industry to help my students write effectively and also be great candidates for the film market.
I will want to firstly know you as a person, and where you currently are in your journey as a writer, and tailor your experience so that you come out having a strong sense of the sort of writer you are and want to be. In a more general sense, we will focus on character development, story structure, and many others through visual learning, class exercises and creative assignments.
Every writer has something unique to them, and I aim for my students to not only recognise their niche, but feel empowered by it too.
