My methodology generally depends on level of knowledge of student and the amount of time he/she has. If it is urgent I can simply demonstrate how to solve the necessary problems, otherwise I prefer for the student to work through understanding. I follow a very interactive teaching style in which I ask a lot of questions and pose problems as we are learning to reaffirm the students knowledge, making it more like a guided conversation in which I am trying to explain something.
