About Victoria
I discovered my passion for mathematics when I noticed that many students struggle not because they are incapable, but because they lack guidance that connects concepts clearly. This led me to pursue an M.Sc in Mathematics Education, where I studied teaching strategies, curriculum design, and cognitive approaches to problem-solving. Over 12 years of teaching, I have helped students master elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths by fostering understanding, confidence, and logical reasoning. I teach with patience, empathy, and adaptability, ensuring lessons are tailored to each learner’s pace and style. I enjoy using multiple approaches, visual tools, real-life examples, and stepwise problem breakdowns to ensure comprehension. Students often start with uncertainty or fear of complex topics, but gradually develop confidence in reasoning and problem-solving through structured guidance and supportive practice. Watching learners transform into confident, independent thinkers is deeply rewarding. Outside of teaching, I engage in mathematical puzzles, explore advanced problem-solving techniques, and research innovative educational methods. This helps me continuously improve my lessons and maintain relevance. I am committed to helping students discover that mathematics can be both comprehensible and enjoyable, equipping them with skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Mathematics becomes far more approachable when students can connect concepts across levels and topics. In my lessons, I teach elementary school maths, middle school maths, geometry, algebra, and SAT maths using patient, structured explanations that help learners understand not just how to solve problems, but why the methods work. I emphasise logical reasoning, step-by-step progression, and hands-on practice, ensuring that each student feels confident and capable in every area of maths. Lessons are personalised to the student’s level and learning style. Beginners focus on number sense, arithmetic, early algebra, pattern recognition, and simple geometry. Intermediate learners tackle multi-step problems, geometric reasoning, algebraic fluency, proportionality, and data interpretation. Advanced learners concentrate on SAT maths problem-solving, strategic shortcuts, time management, algebraic sophistication, and geometry challenges. Each lesson integrates practical examples and exercises that reinforce understanding while building both confidence and analytical skill. Maths lessons also develop broader cognitive abilities such as persistence, careful reasoning, and independent thinking. Students gain the ability to analyse problems methodically, see connections between topics, and apply solutions creatively. By mastering elementary and middle school concepts through geometry, algebra, and SAT maths, learners acquire a strong foundation that supports higher-level academic work and real-life decision-making. My goal is to cultivate both competence and self-confidence, helping students approach challenges with calm and clarity.
