About Angelica
I have a love for math but more so for teaching math. I have been helping students with homework for about 20 years, starting with just voluntary after-school help. This led me to my first teaching assistant job at 19 while I worked on my degree. I have been working in the classroom ever since.
I am willing to meet students at their own level and ensure that they can tackle any math problem that comes their way, no matter how intimidating.

I encourage students to show how they go about solving a math problem/concept they are having trouble with. After, I am able to explain any discrepancies in their logic then come up with solutions in order to close the gap and improve understanding for future problems. I always encourage students to be honest and express when they are confused as to what does and does not work.
Most of my experience is in teaching upper elementary. However, the majority of the content in those early years is integral to understanding early high school material. I am able to improve a student's understanding through scaffolded instruction regardless of grade or age.
