About Svitlana
I believe that every person perceives and understands math in their own way, which is why there cannot be a single approach that works equally well for everyone. For example, with one of my recent students we started associating angles with colors to make it easier for her to grasp the concept — and this method worked wonderfully for her. That’s why in my lessons I always look for an individual approach, adapting my explanations and methods so that each student can truly understand the material and even begin to enjoy math. For me, it’s important that my students not just memorize endless formulas but actually see how math works and how it connects to their thinking. My goal is to make math accessible, clear, and less stressful — and to help students build confidence step by step. Whether you want to prepare for exams, improve grades, or simply feel more comfortable with math, I’ll be glad to support you in Chicago or online.

I am a math tutor with 8 years of experience working with students of different ages, backgrounds, and goals. I began teaching during my first year at university, starting with Olympiad preparation groups and later moving to individual lessons. Since then, teaching math has always been a part of my life because I truly love the subject and enjoy seeing how my students begin to love it too.
Over the years, I have worked with students from different countries, including Ukraine, the United States, and Switzerland, so I am familiar with various school curricula. I have prepared students for exams such as SAT, GMAT, and Ukrainian national tests (ZNO/NMT), and I also provide support with homework, filling knowledge gaps, and strengthening understanding of school material.
My lessons are personalized and student-focused: I adapt my teaching style to individual needs, whether it’s preparing for important exams, improving grades, or building confidence in math. My goal is not only to explain the material clearly but also to make learning math engaging and less stressful.
