About Mitsuo
With roots in both Japan and Mexico, I spent my formative years in Mexico before relocating to Texas. My journey took me to mechanical engineering, where I delved into the field through my studies and a master's program. After some industry experience at a millwork company, I found my calling in tutoring. This unique background has instilled in me a deep understanding and empathy for individuals from various walks of life and learning styles. What I love most is connecting with people from all sorts of backgrounds. Now, I've set up shop in Houston, and I'm excited to bring my friendly and down-to-earth approach to helping others learn.

Before the lesson, I tailor the material to align with the student's needs. I often utilize resources like IXL to assign specific problems for us to navigate together. Many students come with their own notes or math problems that they're keen to tackle, and I happily adjust our focus to accommodate them.
Through each lesson, I keep an eye on areas that may pose challenges and make notes on them. Aside from looking at the immediate material at hand, I'm also considering if there might be gaps in their prior knowledge, overall demeanor, and learning style.
Once our lesson concludes, I check in with them during the week, to gauge their progress and to offer assistance with any areas they might still be struggling with before the next lesson.
