I am a PhD student in Mathematics. I have been tutoring for 3 years now. I have a B.A and M.S in Mathematics. The best compliment I have recieved so far is that I explain concepts better than the student's instructor's.

I approach each topic/lesson by giving examples first, so that the student can visualize the concept, and then give the definite definition. I think doing this helps the student grasp the idea behind the notion/definition instead of just accepting whatever idea/definition is given.
