About Harlow
My journey in mathematics began with a fascination for patterns, logical structures, and abstract reasoning. This passion led me to pursue an M.Sc in Pure Mathematics, where I developed a deep understanding of mathematical theory and analytical thinking. Over the past 11 years, I have taught students from diverse academic backgrounds, helping them overcome anxiety and develop confidence through clarity and consistency.
I believe mathematics should be taught with patience and structure. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and pacing needs. I focus on building strong foundations before advancing to complex topics, ensuring students feel secure and supported throughout their learning journey. Encouraging independent thinking and self-correction is a key part of my approach.
Outside teaching, I continue engaging with mathematics through academic reading and problem-solving exploration. Teaching mathematics is deeply fulfilling because I witness students transform uncertainty into confidence. Helping learners discover their logical strength and clarity of thought is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

Mathematics lessons are structured to help students move beyond fear and develop a calm, confident relationship with numbers and logic. I focus on explaining concepts in a clear and progressive manner, ensuring students understand not only how to solve a problem, but why each step works. Topics such as arithmetic reasoning, algebraic structures, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus are introduced with clarity and reinforced through guided practice. Visual reasoning, stepwise breakdowns, and pattern recognition are emphasised to strengthen conceptual understanding.
As students advance, lessons become more analytical and strategic. Learners are guided through multi-step problem solving, proof-based reasoning, and application-focused questions. I encourage students to verbalise their thinking process, identify errors independently, and refine their approach with structured feedback. Regular practice exercises are paired with reflective discussion to help students internalise logic rather than rely on memorisation.
Mathematics lessons also help students develop discipline, patience, and mental clarity. Many learners experience increased confidence not only in maths but across other analytical subjects. By building strong reasoning habits, students learn to approach challenges methodically and calmly. My goal is to help students feel capable, focused, and empowered when facing mathematical problems of any level.
