About Vinicius
I'm a PhD in Mathematics from Indiana University, and I taught math college courses for 7 years, both in the US and in Brazil. This includes mentoring students one-on-one to teaching large courses (100+ students) both in person and remotely. I'm familiar with teaching students from a variety of backgrounds and levels of knowledge, and I'm passionate about creating clear and concise lessons, and using interactive visualizations.

My tutoring sessions are heavily focused on building student confidence with the material through examples and problem solving, and I plan my lessons according to your learning goals and time constraints.
I'm most familiar with teaching college math classes (including Calculus, Finite Mathematics, College Algebra, and Differential Equations), and teaching Python programming. But I would be able to help you with any college or high school math courses.
A typical lesson involves a short discussion of a main topic, going through some examples to make sure you understand the definitions, and then we work together on specific problems (preferably homework or exam questions). The idea is for me to see your thinking process, check for misconceptions, and outline problem-solving strategies. At the end, we often recap some main takeaways to make the material easier to remember, and we talk about what to study before the next tutoring session.
