About Alex
Hello! I have a strong passion for teaching, developed through several years of experience at both university level (including Master's courses) and through private tutoring. I have helped secondary school students prepare for exams, strengthen their understanding and improve their grades. I have also volunteered with primary school children with learning difficulties. I am proud to have consistently received positive feedback from my students, many of whom have successfully passed university exams, caught up on missed work or significantly improved their academic performance.
I currently work as a researcher at Queen Mary University of London. Previously, I worked at Sony AI in Spain. I completed my PhD in Computer Science at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Germany (one of the leading AI institutes in Europe!), graduating with honours. I also hold a degree in Mathematical Engineering (with honours) and a Bachelor's degree in Physics.

In my lessons, I explain both theory and exercises using a clear, structured and intuitive approach. My first priority is to identify and address any gaps in your understanding. We then work through exercises in detail, using practical examples to make abstract concepts more intuitive and accessible. I adapt my teaching to each student's background, pace and goals, whether that means preparing for school examinations, tackling challenging university-level mathematics or developing a deeper understanding of the mathematical foundations of machine learning and AI.
Lessons take place in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Learning should never feel rushed. With a steady and systematic approach, progress naturally follows.
*Important*: I am also happy to discuss any personal challenges you may face with studying, such as managing exam stress, building confidence or overcoming anxiety. My aim is not simply to help you get through an exam, but to help you become more confident, independent and comfortable with the subject.
