About Matthew
I have tutored students from plenty of different backgrounds and ages. I have done so professionally, and as a volunteer; in person, and remotely; one-on-one, and in a group. I'm passionate about the material, meaning I do it every day for enjoyment as well as employment, and I think trying to impart this enthusiasm on my students helps many of them become more fond of math.

Mathematics is learned cumulatively, so learning it successfully requires a great deal of care on the teacher's part at each and every step. I am thorough and I make sure that students learn that math is a creative activity, not just a mechanical one. I believe in the effectiveness of indulging the student's curiosity and bolstering their confidence.
