About Carly
My passion for mathematics began with an early fascination for patterns, structures, and the elegance of problem-solving, which led me to pursue a B.Sc in Mathematics followed by an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics. Over the past 10 years, I have guided students across various levels to develop conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, and confidence in handling both theoretical and applied mathematics. My teaching approach prioritizes clarity, engagement, and real-world relevance.
I focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable components, using illustrative examples, visual explanations, and step-by-step reasoning. Many students initially find topics like calculus, algebra, and probability intimidating, so I provide supportive guidance while encouraging independent exploration. This approach ensures learners not only learn techniques but internalize understanding, fostering long-term mastery.
Outside of teaching, I continue to engage with mathematics through research, modeling projects, and problem-solving challenges, which enriches my lessons with contemporary, practical applications. Watching students progress from uncertainty to mastery, independence, and confidence is profoundly rewarding.
