About Lance
My love for mathematics began with curiosity about how abstract ideas can explain patterns in science, technology, and everyday life. I earned a B.Sc in Pure Mathematics and later an M.Sc in Applied Mathematical Modelling, where I explored both theoretical reasoning and real-world applications. Over the past 7 years, I have supported students in building strong foundations and achieving academic success through structured teaching and consistent encouragement.
I believe mathematics should feel empowering rather than overwhelming. My teaching style focuses on breaking problems into manageable steps, explaining concepts clearly, and helping learners understand the logic behind every method. I adapt lessons carefully so students feel supported at their own pace, whether they need gentle reinforcement or deeper challenge.
Outside of tutoring, I remain connected to mathematics through modelling studies, continued learning, and exploring interdisciplinary applications. Teaching is meaningful because I see learners transform from uncertainty into confident thinkers. Supporting students in becoming capable, independent, and successful mathematicians is at the heart of my work.

I guide learners to see mathematics as a connected system of ideas that can be understood with patience and practice. Each session encourages questions, exploration, and gradual confidence-building so students feel secure as they progress.
Lessons are carefully designed around the student’s level and goals. Beginners work on number sense, equation solving, and logical patterns with step-by-step reinforcement. Intermediate learners strengthen their skills in functions, graph interpretation, multi-step word problems, and exam-focused strategies. Advanced students refine calculus reasoning, proof-based thinking, and higher-level analytical problem solving through deeper challenge and structured support. I provide detailed feedback and guidance to ensure steady improvement.
