About Asia
I've been tutoring math for nearly a decade, and in that time I've worked with 60+ students. My first job was as an instructor at Mathnasium, and within a year I was also tutoring students privately. In high school, I volunteered with the Math Honors Society, teaching foundational math at an elementary school in an underserved community.
I continued tutoring virtually throughout university, covering everything from Algebra to Calculus. I've also helped students prepare for the SAT, and two of them raised their scores by more than 200 points. I graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Economics.
Tutoring is now my full-time focus, and I absolutely love what I do. I come to every session prepared and keep parents updated on their child's progress. Most of all, I genuinely care about my students, and helping a struggling kid finally believe in themselves is my purpose in life!

My lessons are for middle and high school students in Pre-algebra through Calculus, especially those who have started to believe they're "just not a math person."
Most students who struggle aren't missing ability. They're missing a building block from earlier on, and everything built on top of it feels shaky. Instead of just walking through tonight's homework, I find where things stopped making sense and rebuild that foundation. Once the gap is filled, the current material clicks much faster.
A typical session begins with a quick check-in on what's happening in class and whether a quiz or test is coming up. Then we work through whatever your child is finding hardest. I explain new ideas with real-world examples and a little humor, because math is less intimidating when it actually means something (and is fun!!). After that, your child tries problems on their own while I guide them, so they leave knowing they can do it without me. Each student also gets notes tailored to their weak spots to come back to between sessions.
What sets my lessons apart is the environment. Sessions are relaxed and judgment-free, so students feel comfortable saying "I don't get it" as often as they need to. For kids with math anxiety, that safety is usually the turning point, and once their confidence grows, their grades follow.
All lessons are online and scheduled around your child's after-school hours.
