About Drew
I am currently in my second year of my Political Science degree at McGill University with minors in Economics and (hopefully) business. I write around 30 essays a semester, and most of my learning is done through comprehension and discussion of academic articles, making me pretty qualified in areas of writing and literacy. University was initially a huge transition for me, despite graduating high school with a 98.5% average, however, after much trial and error, I have now figured out how to maintain an A average in my second year! I am excited to share with students tips that will help get them into their top school, and help them maintain their averages once they get there.

I plan to teach by starting on the essential structure of the essay. A lot of the time we have big ideas that just need to be whittled down to a simple formula! My lessons are best suited for high school students preparing to enter university in the next few years, as I help my students perfect the basics of academic writing. I feel that I stand out from other tutors as I had to start from the bottom up with my academic writing when entering university, as this style wasn't an emphasis in my high school. This allows me to have a comprehensive knowledge of how to build these skills and to recognize what is looked for in academic settings. With my lessons, we will start by finding ideas that interest you, sharpening our arguments, and writing clear and interesting pieces.
