About Cameron

Cameron Stack is a positioning and monetization expert working at the intersection of podcasting, brand strategy, and creative recognition. For nearly two decades he's been innovating and pushing boundaries within new media, focusing specifically on audio for nearly the last decade. He's helped over 100 brands across industries cut through the noise and build audio assets and media properties that impact the right people.

His client roster includes global platforms like Indeed, sports leagues like Ligue 1, entertainment companies like Atomic Entertainment (creators of Brain Games), and beloved podcasts like Who Smarted? and The Par Train, along with enterprise brands like SMC National, Hunt Big Sales, and Data Insights Labs. He advised Indeed on its seven-figure quarterly podcast campaign, founded Podcast Sins to take SaaS and service businesses from concept to sustained growth, and served as executive producer on Monetize Media, a show that reached 112 countries across 18 episodes.

He's the founder of Recognized, the publication decoding what he calls the Recognition Economy: the interconnected market of awards, rankings, badges, and public acknowledgment spanning entertainment, sport, business, and platforms. Recognized breaks down who runs an award, who judges it, who pays for it, and what a trophy actually signals, from the Oscars and the Webbys to hundreds of niche programs almost nobody vets. Its work includes A Taxonomy of Podcast Awards, a night inside the Podcast Hall of Fame, and reference guides mapping entire national awards ecosystems. He's also the founder of Sounds Debatable, a podcast advisory firm and curated directory of the industry's best resources, examples, and insights, which grew out of earlier projects including Directory.fm and Wav.Plus, a podcast job board and newsletter that drew acquisition attention.

He's spoken at Podcast Movement multiple times, most recently presenting on the Dallas (2025) panel "When & How to Apply for Podcast Awards Without Wasting Your Time," where he shared strategic frameworks for maximizing competitive positioning while protecting time investment. He's also presented at Podcast Evolutions in Chicago and Los Angeles and at PodFest, and hosted Unscripted Startups, an entrepreneurship show with 50 plus episodes, listeners in 40 plus countries, and Apple Podcasts chart placements across the USA, UK, Sweden, Australia, and Japan.

Cameron's editorials and coverage have been cited in Forbes and featured on Podnews, RadioInfo, HackerNoon, and other industry outlets, and he joined The New Media Show to discuss why podcast and creator awards matter.

As one of the foremost thought leaders within the creative recognition space, he's interviewed a wealth of award organizers and tastemakers in podcasting, from Jack Rhysider (Darknet Diaries) and Todd Cochrane (Founder, People's Choice Podcast Awards) to John Leschinski (Founder, Canadian Podcast Awards), Rob Greenlee (Chairperson, Podcast Hall of Fame), and Frank Racioppi (Ear Worthy Awards), along with representatives from Australian Audio Awards, AudioUK's APA Awards, and dozens of other industry leaders about recognition and awards.

I teach by working on your actual project rather than on examples. You bring the show you have or the idea you are sitting on, and we build from there. Theory only comes up when it explains a decision you are about to make.

Every session ends with one finished thing. A show outline, a recorded and edited test segment, a sponsor pitch, a rate card, a publishing checklist. Homework between sessions is small and specific, usually one task that takes under an hour, because a podcast dies from stalled momentum more often than from bad audio.

I also give direct feedback. If your concept is too broad, your intro is too long, or your rate is too low, I will say so and show you the fix.

A typical lesson

Sixty minutes online by video call, usually structured like this.

First ten minutes: review the task from last session and what happened when you tried it. Next thirty to forty minutes: the working block, screen shared. That might mean editing together in your software, rewriting your show description live, mapping a season of episodes, or drafting a pitch to a sponsor or guest. Final ten minutes: you leave with the finished piece and one task for the week.

First session is different. It is diagnostic. We identify which of three positions you are in, which is having an idea and no episodes, episodes and no audience, or an audience and no revenue, and we set a plan around that.

What sets me apart

Nearly a decade producing podcasts professionally, for clients including Indeed, Ligue 1, Atomic Entertainment, Who Smarted? and The Par Train, and over 100 brands in total. I have worked in new media for close to two decades.

I have also run my own shows, so I have made the mistakes I am teaching you to avoid. I hosted an entrepreneurship podcast for over 50 episodes that charted on Apple Podcasts in five countries, and I was executive producer on a show that reached listeners in 112 countries.

Most podcast tutors teach either the technical side or the creative side. I teach the business alongside both, because the format and the revenue model are the same decision. I have spoken at Podcast Movement, Podcast Evolutions and PodFest, and I write about the awards and recognition side of the industry, which means I can also tell you which directories, awards and industry listings are worth your time and which are selling you a badge.
