About Nafisah
I’m a Medical Doctor with two years postgraduate training in Paediatrics. This means that I’m very versed in foundational Mathematics and life sciences as these are two of the core subjects that qualifies an individual to study Medicine at the university level. My professional training in Paediatrics also means that I understand children psychology and I’m equipped with the right knowledge on how to manage children. Though I’m a Doctor by profession, my postgraduate training included and offered training in teaching from which I gained two years training as a Graduate teaching Assistant. Coupled with that, I have engaged in private tutoring for several years as teaching is a passion that comes naturally to me. I also helped my classmates in secondary school and course mates in university with subjects and courses they had difficulty with.

I usually employ an individualized approach in my private tutoring. I do this by finding out the areas of the subject where my student is weak and then teach using a stepwise breakdown and detailed explanation approach. I also help my students reinforce the lessons taught by going through multiple exercises and assignments to take home. I encourage individual study and self development by tasking students to study the aims and objectives with keynotes about lesson before the actual lesson. My lessons typically lasts an hour to enable maximum attention and avoid burn out, in order to achieve a solid reinforcement of the lesson taught. I have several years of experience as a private tutor of Mathematics and life sciences up till secondary level and I have two years experience of teaching Paediatrics at the university level as a Graduate teaching Assistant.
